Testimonials

Without a shadow of doubt the Loubas Village epitomizes the type of tranquility and security that many of us seek in a holiday location. It is relaxing for both adults and children alike.

Situated in the heart of the countryside, but within easy driving distance of towns, villages, the river Lot with its wonderful views and activities, golf courses, and an entire range of restaurant choices for all tastes.

Loubas itself offers seclusion and privacy without the feeling of being isolated, although it’s off the beaten track location is one of its most endearing qualities. The houses and grounds themselves have been renovated to the highest possible standards, combining comfort with convenience, and giving a sense of space.

We will be regular visitors and can thoroughly recommend it to all

Loubas Easter 2011 – Viv, Elin & Magnus Hanstad-Pilcher – Switzerland

Loubas is situated in a peaceful location near to local attractions and places of interest. All the cottages are centrally located and have a private BBQ and terrace. The pool is situated in the centre of the complex only yards from each cottage and is  an ideal setting for relaxation. There are several interesting local walks for those wishing to discover the surrounding countryside and we were pleased to discover some cherry trees full of fruit in the grounds.

We visited the local village of Roquecor which has a weekly market with a lovely display of local produce including organic wines, cheeses, fruit and vegetables, clothes stalls and even food specialities from North Africa.  The village also has a store containing all essentials, a local artisan savoniere, and art gallery. We enjoyed a coffee as well as some excellent home cooked meals in the café and brasserie whilst taking in the wonderful scenery.

We found the nearby beautiful lake at Montaigu-de-Quercy, set in a quiet location, the ideal place for a relaxing day out.  There are rowing boats, pedalos, and tennis courts for hire including a small beach. There is also a bar and café providing food and also entertainment during high season.

The delightful hilltop towns of Penne and Lauzerte only a short drive away, are historical places of interest and well worth a visit. They have arts and crafts, shops, creperies, cafes and restaurants all serving local specialities and the views are superb.

Further afield we visited Agen, famous for producing the well known sweet and juicy  prunes and Cahors, the medieval city well known for its Valentre Bridge and nearby ramparts. Both have historical places of interest, local markets and boat trips available in high season.

Our journey to Loubas was trouble free due the quiet french autoroutes and with plenty of good facilities on route.

We have been to Loubas six times and we still find something new every time we go there. It is a delightful area of South West France and Loubas has superb accommodation in a fantastic hilltop hamlet overlooking the beautiful countryside.

After 10 years of French Gite Holidays, we have for the first time booked the same place for a second year. Village de Loubas is a wonderfully relaxing centre to visit some of the most beautiful areas in France. Madame Edmonds and her family are wonderful hosts who will happily put themselves out to ensure the success of your holiday.

Lovely peaceful rural setting, high up in hills with beautiful views. Although rural, there were many amenities within 15-30 minutes drive. Owners are more than willing to offer advice and information if required. Great place to unwind and relax and the pool is outstanding. Thank you.

Loubas is a most picturesque and delightful setting in the heart of French countryside. The nearest village Dausse is within comfortable walking distance while within easy driving distance are the picturesque towns of Cahors, Agen and Moissseaux. For the more adventurous, a day trip to the historic Bastide town of Carcasonne is well worth the effort, but there are many that are much nearer, such as Penne D’Agenais, Pujols and Villeneuve.
